The structure of the house is post and beam. Deutz Construction is doing the framing. All of the exposed posts are number 1 or 2 Douglas Fir, 6"x6" on the main floor and 4"x4" on the upper floor and basement. The Moore Brothers of Imnaha, Oregon ruff cut the posts from salvaged logs. Ken Hunt, an artist friend also of Imnaha, Oregon, carved most of the exposed posts with capital and base details; see the images link.
The stairs are straight at the top and bottom landings then spiral around 180° in the middle. This allowed the staircase to take up minumal space.
